Statement of Faith
First Responders Chaplain Association Inc.
The First Responders Chaplain Association Inc. affirms the historic Christian faith and holds to the following core doctrinal beliefs as the theological foundation for our ministry and chaplaincy service.
The Authority of Scripture
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, given through divine inspiration and preserved for the instruction, correction, and spiritual formation of humanity. The Scriptures serve as the final authority for faith, doctrine, and conduct.
Scripture References:
- 2 Timothy 3:16–17
- 2 Peter 1:20–21
- Psalm 119:105
The Canon of Scripture
We believe that the full canon of Scripture, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the complete and sufficient revelation of God’s will for His people.
Scripture References:
- Matthew 5:18
- Revelation 22:18–19
The Trinity
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and united in divine essence.
Scripture References:
- Matthew 28:19
- 2 Corinthians 13:14
- John 1:1–2
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
We believe that salvation is made possible solely through the grace of God and received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. No human works or merit can earn salvation; it is the gift of God through the redemptive work of Christ.
Scripture References:
- John 3:16
- Ephesians 2:8–9
- Acts 4:12
- Romans 10:9–10
The Death, Resurrection, and Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. We further believe that Christ will return again in power and glory to establish His kingdom and gather His people.
Scripture References:
- 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
- Isaiah 53:5
- Acts 1:11
- John 14:3
The Five-Fold Ministry
We believe that Christ established ministry offices within the Church for the purpose of equipping the saints and building up the body of Christ. These include apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.
Scripture Reference:
- Ephesians 4:11–13
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit continue to operate in the Church today for the edification of believers, the strengthening of the Church, and the advancement of the Gospel.
Scripture References:
- 1 Corinthians 12:4–11
- Romans 12:6–8
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as a spiritual empowerment given to believers to strengthen their faith, enable effective ministry, and equip them for service in the Kingdom of God.
Scripture References:
- Acts 1:8
- Acts 2:1–4
- Acts 19:6
The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, guiding, comforting, convicting, and transforming the life of the Christian into the image of Christ.
Scripture References:
- John 14:16–17
- Romans 8:11

We believe that water baptism is an ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ as a public declaration of faith and identification with His death, burial, and resurrection.
Scripture References:
- Matthew 28:19
- Romans 6:4
- Acts 2:38
Biblical Marriage
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God and defined in Scripture as the union between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects God’s design for family, companionship, and the nurturing of future generations. We affirm that this covenant relationship symbolizes the spiritual relationship between Christ and His Church.
Scripture References:
- Genesis 2:24
- Matthew 19:4–6
- Ephesians 5:31–32

These doctrinal convictions guide the mission, ministry, and ethical conduct of the First Responders Chaplain Association Inc. as we seek to provide spiritual care, pastoral presence, and compassionate service to first responders, their families, and the communities they serve.“Let all things be done decently and in order.” 1 Corinthians 14:40

The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created in the image of God. Human life begins at conception and continues until natural death. Every person therefore possesses inherent dignity, value, and worth regardless of age, ability, background, or circumstance. As followers of Christ, we affirm the responsibility to protect, honor, and care for human life.
Scripture References:
- Genesis 1:26–27
- Psalm 139:13–16
- Jeremiah 1:5
- Exodus 20:13
Biblical Sexual Ethics
We believe that God has established moral boundaries for human sexuality within the context of Scripture. Sexual intimacy is designed by God to exist within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. All individuals are called to pursue holiness, purity, and faithfulness according to God’s Word.
While we affirm biblical moral standards, we also affirm the call of the Gospel to extend compassion, dignity, and grace to all people as we seek to reflect the love and truth of Christ.
Scripture References:
- Genesis 2:24
- 1 Corinthians 6:18–20
- 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5
- Hebrews 13:4
The Mission of the Church and Christian Service
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ called to proclaim the Gospel, disciple believers, and serve humanity through acts of compassion, mercy, and justice. As chaplains, we are called to represent Christ through spiritual care, prayer, counsel, and presence, particularly among first responders, their families, and the communities they serve.
Our ministry seeks to embody Christ’s command to love God and love our neighbor through faithful service and pastoral care.
Scripture References:
- Matthew 28:19–20
- Matthew 22:37–39
- Micah 6:8
- James 1:27
Doctrinal Commitment for Chaplains
All chaplains, instructors, and affiliated members of the First Responders Chaplain Association Inc. affirm that the Holy Scriptures are the ultimate authority for faith and practice and agree to uphold these doctrinal convictions in their ministry, conduct, and representation of the organization.
